SRINAGAR (PTI): Tibetans in Kashmir observed a day’s strike on Sept.18 in protest against China’s bid to host the Olympics 2000 at Beijing.
Nearly 250 Tibetan migrants engaged in the hosiery and readymade garments industry in Srinagar, remained indoors in response to the call given by the Chandigarh based regional Tibetan Youth Congress,
They appealed to their community elsewhere in the world to oppose China’s bid to host the summer Olympics.
The date for selection of the venue for the 2000 Olympics is Sept.23.
