Washington: In observance of December 10 as International Human Rights Day the International Human Rights Organization (THRO) in Washington D.C. has announced a protest rally to be held in front of the White House on December 10, 1992 at 3 p.m. to be followed by a candlelight vigil in front of the Indian Embassy.

This rally is being held to protest the ongoing and unadapting misuse of police powers by the Indian Government against Sikhs in the Punjab. These violations of human rights include maiming’s and deaths by torture of militants and their families and the raping and killing of female family members. The IHRO rally is also a protest against the appointment of SS.Ray as Indian ambassador to the United States. S.S.Ray as governor of the Punjab encouraged and abetted police killings and brutalities toward militants and their families.

All those who decry the injustice and repressive measures of the Indian government in their attempt to suppress human rights in minority areas are urged to be present at the rally.

Dr.Rajwant Singh President of IHRO-North America and Satjiwan Singh Khalsa executive Director of IHRO both have appealed to the Sikh community to participate in observing December 10, 1992 as human rights day. They are urging Sikhs all over North America to hold rallies on this day The Unknown Americans.
