LUDHIANA: Three of the eleven members of the coordination committee which recently negotiated with the government of India to resolve the Sikh and Punjab problems have resigned.
They are Dr.S.S.Dosanjh M.r Armik Singh Aliwal and Mr Jjit Singh Ghungrana. Mr Dosajh is head of the journalism Dept at PAU. Aliwal belongs to the Badal group and is contesting the Ludhiana Parliamentary seat. Ghungrana is a candidate from Kila Raipur assembly seat.
The three resigned to contest against the alleged failure of the Punjab Govt to implement the so called five point agreements between the negotiators and the government. It may be recalled that the so-called coordination committee agreed to hold talks with Delhi when no other group ventured out for such an enterprise.
A committee ‘member later claimed that the committee achieved big successes for Sikh’s including the withdrawal of the security forces by a few yards from the main gates of the Golden.
Temple complex evidentially this was not implemented by the Govt forcing the committee members to resign. Dr Dosanjh had asked the Govt to ask its intelligence to monitor the activities of those opposing elections in Punjab. It is not known whether the contesting members have agroused against Delhi on this score also
