CHANDIGARH, India: Three persons including a woman were killed and eight injured as the security forces arrested nine gunmen. Mrs. Pritam Kaur who was injured in her house in a shooting incident by gunmen at Dharam Chand Kot Kubund under Thabal police station died at local G.T.B. Hospital. Her husband Kesar Singh was shot dead by the gunmen as well.
In a separate incident a migrant labourer from Bihar was beaten to death while he was sleeping at his house at Nasu Khan village. The police sources identified the victims as Bachu Ram. He was working with other migrant laborers at the farm of Kishan Singh. He was sleeping in the court yard while his companions were sleeping inside when the gunmen entered the: house.
Two gunmen shot dead a person in Chattiwala village under Baghapurana police station in Faridkot district.
Some gunmen shot at and’ wounded Kehr Singh at his house in Kapurgarh under Majitha police station. He was asked about the whereabouts of one of their targets Baldev Singh.
One person was deprived of his Scooter at pistol point near Haryana village in Hoshiarpur district. In another incident young men looted Rs. 8000 from a post office near Doaba College in Jullundur city.
