NEW YORK: Thousands of devotees from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut gathered at the Sikh Cultural Society Gurdwara on April 16 to commemorate the 390th birth anniversary of the Khalsa.

The oldest and largest Gurdwara on the east coast which has been recently renovated with marble, was teeming as an estimated. Five thousand Sikhs came to mark the Vaisakhi.

The kirtani jathas of Bhai Dilbagh Singh and Bhai Kadam Singh rendered Kirtan on the occasion. Both are prominent kirtanies,

The management asked all the Sikhs present in the congregation to participate with their friends, in the Sikh Day parade in Manhattan on April 22. The Sikh Cultural Society is at the forefront of organizing this second annual parade which will start at 34 Street and Broadway at 1 pm.

20,000 dollars were collected from the congregation for the Sikh Studies course at Columbia University NY.
