Dear Editor,

Congratulations for publishing such a thought provoking article “The Bloodless Ghalughora” by Kirpal Singh Nijjar. This article has given us the mirror to look squarely at ourselves and to see which way we are drifting. I say this in all humility, not pointing my finger at anyone but examining my own self, my near and dear ones. I would request our readers to pledge that we will take time to introduce our children to the teachings of our Gurus, spend at least one hour every day to the children from Gurbani, history (Saakhis of our Gurus), and inspire them to higher thinking and noble deeds.

Sahe jdariss should now reverse their course; instead of moving slowly schja schja in the direction of losing our proud identity they should take a 180 degree tum to become Singh’s and Sikhs in true form turban being the crown of Guru’s Sikhs.

Sikh’s should proudly wear the five K’s, a symbol of prestige in our homes and in our social get together. Gurdwaras should take a lead in popularizing ‘Amrit’ as some have done already you will see that teachers and children from other faith communities will respects even more for adhering to our principles, and our true identity.

The cursed bottle should be thrown away from our homes, as many of the enlightened Americans are doing. They have realized the physical ill effects of smoking and drinking, and are now educating their citizens about the good effects of inhibition, Our Gurus taught these centuries ago.

Let us arm ourselves with the uniform of the Khalsa, and go proudly marching toward victory. One request for WSN too please does not publish Matrimonials “seeking clean-shaven handsome Jat Sikh etc.” Will wait for Mr.Nijjar’s future articles.
