Sir,

Please refer to S.Sujan Singhs article “Gur Murat or Portrait of the Guru” The Sikh Review May1992 and the Authors comments none of the pictures we see is the original or copy of the original. They are all imaginary” and “none of the pictures of Gurus we sec these days is authentic in any way.”

When Guru Tegh Bahadur visited Bengal/Assam the Mughal Governor of the Area Shaista Khan commissioned his court painter to make a portrait of Guru Jee This painting still exists and its black & white version has appeared in a number of history book.
