11-Member Khalistan Council Declared
Amritsar, Oct. 7, 1987 – The five members Panthic Committee announced the formation of 11-member Council of Khalistan to direct political, economic and social affairs of the Sikh community in future and appealed to all countries of the world to extend their cooperation to the council in its goal to achieve Khalistan.
The council will be responsible for the foreign policy of Khalistan. The members of the Panthic committee included Mr. Gurbachan Singh Manochal, Mr. Wasan Singh, Mr. Gurdev Singh, Mr. Dalbir Singh and Mr. Davindar Singh.
Following are the members of the Council: Dr. Gurmit Singh Aulakh (USA), President, Council of Khalistan, Dr. Arjinder Singh Sekhon (USA), Mr. Tejinder Singh Babbar (Canada), Mr. Tejpal Singh Dhami (Canada), Mr. Harinder Singh (Norway), Mr. Shamsher Singh of Akal Federation, Mr. Satnam Singh of Akal Khalsa, Mr. Gurnam Singh Bandala, Mr. Wadhwa Singh Babbar, Mr. Resham Singh Malmohri, and Mr. Sakatar Singh of AISSF. One or two more members are still to be appointed.
The committee issued a warning to the Sikhs all over the world to be aware of the agents of the government of India, which was determined to dismember the Panth and was constantly sowing the seeds of dissension among the Sikhs. The press release further mentioned that the Indian and Punjab governments on the one hand were killing the Sikh youth and on the other the Sikh leadership was being terrorized and demoralized into accepting power. Those who are willing to take up the gauntlet have either been jailed without an} hope of being released or have been eliminated through fake encounters.
The committee stated that late Sant Jarnail Singh Bhinderanwale initiated the struggle for Khalistan on July 19, 1982 and the Sikh youth would continue the struggle for Khalistan by taking lead from the sacred and eternal Akal Takhat.
The Sikhs living abroad have an obligation to make their contribution in the Sikh struggle for survival. They should muster world opinion against the state terrorism being waged against the Sikhs in India. They should make the world aware of the blatant violation of the basic human rights of the Sikhs. They should let the world know that the so called democracy of the world is really a dictatorship controlled by the czars of Congress (I). It is their duty to combat the disinformation campaign, lodged by the Indian government, against the Sikhs both at home and abroad. They should pool their resources to fight the evil, evil of racism, prejudice and discrimination let lose by the adversaries of the Sikhs.
It is most imperative that the Sikhs all the world over, especially living in North American should take stock of their talent and strength and rally behind the President of Council of Khalistan and fight the uncertainties which the Sikhs face in India and abroad. It is high time for them to realize that the only cure of their trials and turbulences is the creation of a country of their own “KHALISTAN”.
