Baptism washes away Original Sin. Original sin is the sin of the first man and woman (Adam and Eve), who disobeyed God’s commandment and were expelled from paradise. Mankind has had to struggle for its existence ever since.
Every child born from that day forward is considered unclean, in that he is carrying the sins of his ancestors. No salvation is possible, except through the direct intervention of the
Messiah (Christ).
