Dear Editor,
I have read with keen interest the thought provoking articles, “The Enemy Within” (W.S.N. 7/23/93) by S.Saran Singh, LA.S. (Retd) and chief editor, Sikh Review, Calcutta. He very accurately portrayed the real picture prevailing in Punjab and the nasty role played by the cunning Brahmin since he came ruler in 1947.
It is not the first time in the short history of the Sikhs that such events have taken place nor the last time either. We all know “Malik Bhagos” were therein Guru Nanak Deyji’s lifetime. We are all too familiar with Pirthias, Ramrai’s and Gangoo Brahmins during the times of Sikh Gurus. Pahara Singh’s role during Anglo Sikhs wars has been well documented in Shah Muhammad’s “wars.” The fact remains that nation builders and nation destroyers in Sikh history have always moved hand in hand and shoulder to shoulder. The Dardis, Khushwant Singhs, Auroras, Ragis, Bamalas, Toharas, Badals, and the list is endless with these Nation destroyers and they have always been active and around, It is also well known that the Freedom Fighters in the current “Sangharash” (and General Labh Singh whose anniversary we all commemorated recently) were all captured and subsequently killed in fake encounters due to” the role played by such nation destroyers. Recently, I also read that another group of similarly situated Sikhs, namely; Principal Bharpur Sin : S.Jagdev Singh Jassowal (bot brothers-in-law), G:S.Grewal (Advocate General under Bamaia Government) and Dr Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia (who is always too ready and available for such roles) have come up with an idea (with the blessing of Dethi Durbar) “Akal Takht should be made statutorily Automations and ‘above politics.’ They further demand that it should have “Independent identity”
It is a wastage of space to discuss these “Malik Bhagos” but for the benefit of your readers it must be mentioned that Principal Bharpur Singh, an utter failure in public life is now currying favor with the Brahmin to grab something to make his retirement economically secure, About S.Jassowal, least said is the better. An expense paid roundtrip to the United States, United Kingdom; and Canada is his price tag; G.S.Grewalis eyeing a High Court level judgeship Dr Jasbir Singh probably fishing for some Vice chancellorship, The fact remains that Khalsa Panth has always in the past and shall continue to prosper in the future in spite of these “Malik Bhagos.” These individuals dancing to the tune of Delhi Durbar to destroy the venerable Sikh Institutions which have stood the tests of time during the turbulent period of Sikh History, will not succeed in their evil designs. Let Sikhs beware of these new “Malik Bhagos” who are 0 there to seek positions for themselves and in the process try 10 damage the Sikh Institutions at the behest of cunning Brahmins.
