He called upon the Chairman of the Press Council of India Justice R. Sarkaria to ensure the safety of the journalists in Punjab He also urged the National Human Rights Commission to send its team to Punjab to see how the press was being muzzled the police and the political leadership Only those journalists who were singing parties of the government were safe.
