NEW DELHI(PTI): Indian corporate giant Tata industries and At and T announced last week the formation of a joint venture to manufacture and market the SESS (R) switching system, At and T’s most technologically advanced system for the telecommunications equipment market in India.
The joint venture at and T switching systems (India) PVT LTD will produce state-of-the-art central office switching equipment for use in India’s telecommunications network.
At and at holds. 51% majority in the equity partnership and Tatas the remaining 49% in the agreement valued at approximately 35 million dollars (Rs 110 crore).
The manufacturing facility will be located in Bangalore, and the constriction of the new manufacturing plant is scheduled to begin later this year. SESS switch manufacturing will go into operation within one year of the start of construction.
