JALANDHAR: Considering the allegations leveled by some of the Akali Dal (Badal) leaders that Prof Darshan Singh has set up the Akali Dal (Panthic) at the behest of the government to weaken the Sikh community politically, the Shiromani Akali Dal (Panthic) has demanded that the SAD leaders, Parkash Singh Badal and Gurcharan Singh Tohra, be immediately called at the Akal Takht and punished according to the Sikh traditions as both the leaders were responsible for Operation Bluestar and the desecration of the other Sikh gurdwaras.
Addressing a Press conference here recently, Sarabjit Singh Jammu and Amarjit Singh Dhillon, working committee member and district president of the SAD (Panthic), alleged that Badal was instrumental in saving Nirankari leader Gurbachan Singh who was allegedly responsible for massacre of the Sikhs at Amritsar in 1978 while the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee chief Gurcharan Singh Tohra was directly responsible for the Army attack on the Golden Temple in 1984.
