MADURAI: Janata Party leader ‘Subramaniam Swamy has demanded CBI inquiry into the various “financial irregularities” going on in the Kancheepuran Sankaracharya Mutt. Alleging that the Mutt had lost its holiness, he told newspersons that the present Mutt head Sri jayendra Saraswathi “incised of helping the poor is helping the rich, and attempting to indulge in political mediation.” Arguing that Mutthead should not indulge in political activities, Dr. Swamy said he would file a public interest petition in the count, and collect signatures for removal of the Kanchi Mutt swamy.
