NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court Sept 12 suspended yearlong bans imposed on six cricket stars.

It said the six players including test captain Dilip Vengsarkar and all-rounder Kapil Dev, should appeal to the disciplinary committee of the Board for Control of Cricket in India who are due to meet this week.

The court made no ruling on the legitimacy of the bans imposed in: August by the BCCI, who said the six had broken contracts by playing unauthorized matches in North America following an Indian tour of the West Indies earlier this year.
