WASHINGTON, Ca. Sukhdev Singh Rye in February began working as a Field Representative for Senator Alan Cranston. Mr. Rye previously worked for the Senator as a legislative aide in Washington, D.C., from September, 1985 to January, 1987.

Mr. Rye is a familiar individual to many of us. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Economics in 1985. His parents are Mohinder Singh Rye and Narnjan Kaur of Sacramento and his grandfather was the late Bishan Singh Rye, President of Greyhound Taxi and one of the early leaders of the first Sikh Gurdwara in California — the Stockton Gurdwara.

Mr. Rye will be travelling throughout California working with the Sikh community. He is available to help as a liaison between Senator Cranston and the Sikh community on matters important to Sikhs relating to the federal government such as agriculture, foreign policy, and immigration.

Mr. Rye can be reached at Senator Cranston’s San Francisco office, Fox Plaza, 1390 Market Street, Suite 918, San Francisco, Ca., 94102, (415) 5568440. We are delighted that Senator Cranston has such an individual on his staff and we wish Mr. Rye much success.
