COLOMBO: Tamil rebels rammed a boat laden with explosives into a navy convoy, blowing up a navy vessel and the 10 sailors abroad, a military Spokesman said.
An unknown number of rebels also died in the suicide attack, and 85 were killed later when the military called in helicopters to help repulse the rebel raid on the convoy, said Maj, Tilak Dunuwille, a military spokesman in Colombo,
Dunuwille said the military destroyed six rebel boats in the attack of Sri Lanka’s northeastern coast, about 150 miles northeast of Colombo.
