SRINAGAR: Life in most parts of Kashmir valley and this summer capital of Kashmir state continued to be affected following a strike call by militants who are fighting for secession from India.

Meanwhile nine persons were killed in two separate incidents in Srinagar since Tuesday night.

The strike call was given to condole the death of 73 Pakistan trained militants who were killed in an encounter with security forces on May 6 while trying to cross over from Pakistan at the line of actual control.

Highly-placed police sources clarified on May 8 that bodies of the slain militants would be buried at the site of the encounter Chowkibal and would not be brought to Srinagar.

“It is not possible for the authorities to bring the bodies to Srinagar for burial” he said adding that the killed militants will be buried at the site of the encounter after identification.

Seven suspected militants were killed when security forces opened fire in retaliation to a firing from a house situated in Naribal locality under police station Nishat here early Wednesday morning official sources said.
