LUDHIANA: The All India Postal Employees Union, Punjab circle, threatened to launch an agitation, including strike, if the postal department did not withdraw the new scheme of postal delivery introduced in Punjab and Chandigarh,

‘The circle secretary of the union, Raj Kumar Jaidka, stated in a press release, that the department proposed to curtail 3rd delivery, abolish a large number of letter boxes and the new system of composite delivery was being introduced on which both the staff and public would suffer,

The workload of the post man would be increased manifold and they shall have to deliver mail on foot.

The union has demanded that the old system should be continued considering the situation in Punjab.
