SRINAGAR (PTI):Seven people were seriously wounded in a shootout Feb.12, while life in Capital Srinagar and other major towns of the valley of the northern State of Jammu and Kashmir continued to be out of gear for the third consecutive day following a strike called by militants. The shootout occurred at Gadhanzpora near zero bridge here, police said. The injured were rushed to hospital for treatment.

Normal life in the valley was disrupted following the strike call in support of Mohammad Yasin Malik, the detained president of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front GKLF), a militants’ outfit. Malik Was arrested by the security forces from a hideout at Barzallah along with top brass of the outfit on August 6,1990.
