NEW DELHI: The expelled Congress leader. Arjun Singh last week, said that irrespective of the action of the Leadership he would continue to work among the purely ranks and carry out his campaign throughout the country

Hours after the announcement of his expulsion from the primary membership of the Congress for six years, Singh told reporters at his residence that the action of the leadership could not stand between him and the party sorters. “If some people feel that they have expelled me from their presence they are welcome to feel that way. But if anyone feels that I have been expelled from the ranks of Congress workers, they are sadly mistaken,” he said in his first reaction Singh ruled out the possibility of a Split in the Congress as a consequence of his ouster and expressed his resolve to strengthen the party. “My task become more crucial and my responsibility greater 10 strengthen the Congress and make it strong enough to face all challenges that are being thrown up.” he said.

Ho said that as far as his mass-contact program was concerned the expulsion would make hardly any difference and related that the party Ieadership’s move had pushed him into a corner. “I am not in a corner, ! am very much part of the Congress party,” he asserted in reply to a question.
