CHANDIGARH: Mr Hukam Singh Haryana Chief Minister said that he had approached the Union Government for speedy construction of the SYL canal through its own agency so that Haryana would no longer face Rs 100 crore loss in food grain production annually due to non-completion of the canal.
Greeting the people of Haryana on Republic Day the Chief Minister said the task of building a new Haryana was no doubt gigantic. Let us join hands to create a casteless and classless society and work wholeheartedly to achieve the cherished goal of prosperity for all.
During the three and a half years crop loans totaling more than Rs 110 crore were given to Haryana farmers It was only by dint of hard labour put in by farmers and numerous facilities provided by the government that the state would be able to step up the production of sfoos ir year he pointed out
Haryana had reason to boast of phenomenal industrial growth. Today it produced the largest number of tractors in the country and one out of every four cycles in the country was manufactured in the state. Besides the Faridabad Ballabgarh Industrial belt a new industrial area called Udyog Vihar had been developed near Gurgaon.
In his address the Rohtak A.LR. Station Mr Hukam Singh assured the people of the state that the government was committed to checking the rise in prices of essential commodities
He denied that there was scarcity of wheat rice pulses in the State. The state government had enough grain stocks. He also appealed to the masses not to hoard items daily use but should pur chase according to their needs He Warned that strict action would be taken against black-marketers and hoarders.
