WASHINGTON: Once again August 29,92 was a memorable day in the history of GNFA, This year 70 children aged 2 to 21 Participated in the Sri Japji Sahib Contest. Contestants were enthusiastic, happy and eager, taking last minute instructions from parents and grandparents. After Shabad Kirtan was performed by GNFA youths and the defining of rules for the contest.
The contest started around 9:15 am. Participants were divided into three groups. First Group Age up to 7 yrs. up to 5 Pauris Second Group Age between & yrs. to 13 yrs up to 19 Pauris Third Group Age between 14 yrs to 21 yrs complete Path A panel of nine very highly qualified judges was selected. The panel performed the job very well. The contest was over by noon and all the children who participated were honored in the Sadh sangat, All participants were given awards. Those who topped the lists in each group were awarded Ist, 2nd, and 3rd prizes. One person in each group who was excellent was awarded a special prize.
The awards were consisted of religious books like Nitnam, Sau Sawal, 10 Masters, Ardas and, trophies and certificates. The contest climaxed with serving of Langar.
