Last week WSN reported ‘Sukdev Singh heads PHRO’ That report was sent in by the PHRO in London. There seems to have been some confusion over the issue we are printing another report emanating from Punjab.
CHANDIGARH: After confirming with governing council members of PHRO it was learnt that Justice Bains still is the president of PHRO and units of PHRO all over Punjab have full confidence in him.
On November 3, 1989 PHRO Governing council meeting was held in Chandigarh. All the senior members attended this meeting. Justice C.S. Tiwana (Sr Vice President) Bibi Baljit Kaur, Sukhjit Kaur Gill (Vice President) and others. In this meeting Mr. DS. Gill and Mr. Mohinder Singh Jawanda were disqualified as PHRO members.
(WSN does not wish to engage in any controversy on this issue. It seems obvious that there are now two PHROs. The activities of both will be reported in an unbiased manner. Ed.).
