LUCKNOW: Final touches are being given to ehargesheets in the Babri Masjid demolition case. The chargesheets would be filed in Special courts being setup for his purpose here.
The State Government has cleaned the selling up of two special courts by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Lucknow or trial of cases related to the demolition.
A notification on the setting up of special courts would be formally issued soon.
The Government has also handed over a total of 48 cases, including those relating to demolition of the Masjid, cases under 153A pertaining to incitement, making inflammatory speeches spreading communal feeling and cases of assault on media men to the CBI. ‘The green signal to the setting up of the special CBI courts comes close on the heels of Prime Minister Narasimha Rab’s statement recently at a program organized by the Quami Tanzeem at New Delhi stating that chargesheets would be issued within 20 days against the guilty in the Ayodhya cases.
The two special CBI courts would include a magistrate and a sessions judge court.
Highly placed sources are of the view that final touches are being given to the chargesheets in the demolition cases and may possibly be issued to Some kar sevaks and some senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders. Hence, the special courts for trial.
It may be recalled that the Central Investigation Department (CID) Crime Branch had recently issued chargesheets to eight senior BJPVHP leaders. Some of the leaders against whom chargesheets were issued included L.K.Advani, Vinay, Katiyar, Ashok Singhal, V.H.Dalmia and Sadhvi Uma Bharti, The special courts would also take cognizance of the chargesheets issued by the CIDCB.
Cases relating to the demolition of the structure in Ayodhya were already being probed by CBI and its learned that final reports are being speeded up in the wake of the two special courts to be set up on Lucknow for trial. In addition to this a total of seven cases regarding assault on media men earlier being probed by a special team of the Economic Offences Wing has now been handed over to the CBI. The only case which remains with the Ayodhya district police is related to the demolition of the mazars. A total of 300 cases are being investigated by the Ayodhya police, While some cases are pending, it is learned that final reports may soon be issued in the other case. This case has not been handed over to the CBI and continues to remain with the Ayodhya police. Briefing newspersons, party spokesperson Krishan Lal Sharm: said the team was going to Ayodhya since doubts and suspicion had been raised regarding the Government’s action there.
He said the team comprising Madan Lal Khuran and B.C. Khanduri would submit a report to the party leaders, The team will be joined by former Minister Lalji Tadon in Luck now.
Sharma said the Government should make it clear whether it is going to war for the SC verdict or is going ahead with construction of the temple.
