BOMBAY: The Russian boxers who mauled Indians a year ago will be visiting the country again this month to play three “Tests”

The first “Test” will be at Hyderabad on December 28, second at Bombay on bad on January 2.

The 14-member Soviet squad will arrive here on December 16 and for 10 days train with their Indian counterparts at the Center of Excellence at Bangalore under the soviet coach Anatoli Volkov and the national coach E. Chiranjevi.

Before this local fans will have the Opportunity of seeing boxers like Manoj Pinagale, G. Dewang, S. Bisjdar, M.P. Singh, G. Kambli, S, Sasne, Anant Singh, J Willims, Killikar and Shanmugham in the ‘Western India Championship in which for the first time pugilists from Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka and Rajasthan will be participating. Further attractions will be boxers from Bombay Engineering Group, Police, rail- ways and the Indian Navy.

It is scheduled to be held in three categories-sub junior between 12 and 17, juniors between 17 and 19 and seniors ‘above 19-from December 16 to 22 at the ‘Azad Maidan in South Bombay.

Meanwhile, the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (AIBF) fears a huge loss by organizing the sixth World Cup Boxing ‘Championship scheduled from November 10 to 19 next year due to a last-minute spanner thrown by the Amateur International Boxing Association (AIBA).

IABF President Aspi Adajania told rep- Saturday that the AIBA had asked for 30 percent of the amount accrued.
