NEW DELHE: The recent spate of bomb blasts in Delhi have led the police to believe that the militants from neighboring Punjab state have gained expertise in making bombs with a high degree of lethality.

Though forensic reports regarding blasts are awaited, police have enough evidence to show that the militants have used RDX, and highly explosive material with almost no shrapnel’s, according to senior police officials,

CHANDIGARH: The new Director General of police, Operations, D.S. Mangat has said that he was very-perturbed by the acquisition of highly sophisticated weapons by the militants.

He said he was disturbed that this was happening despite doubling of the Border Security Force in Punjab to 24 battalions and fencing of the international border. He said Punjab police too needed to update its weaponry.

Mangat expressed concern at the mushrooming of finance companies in border districts, particularly in Amritsar. He claimed that the money looted by militants was being invested in these companies.
