Fortune smiled on Jaswinder Lal on Saturday, Jan.30, and handed him, a jack pot share of $7.8 million. Jaswinder, a 30yrold Punjabi who left India eight years ago has his mother, two brothers and a sister in India, while another two brothers are staying in California. He said he will share his fortune with his family and help friends who have helped him. His immediate aim is to go back to Punjab to see his mother after eight years separation and hopes she will find him a bride. After that he wants to get back to California and start an export business. Jaswinder will get $280,800 a year after taxes. Jaswinder works as a clerk at a Fair Oaks convenience store and has not quit his job. His serics of winning numbers was chosen by a ‘quick pick’ machine. The Fair Oaks store will receive $39,000 or one half of one percent of the prize amount for selling a winning tickle. The other claimant of the $15.6 million jack pot is from San Diego has not yet been identified.
