GANDHINAGAR: Sixty two year old Madhavsinh Solanki was sworn in as Gujarat’s Chief Minister.
Solanki, who was unanimously elected leader of the Congress I legislature party here Saturday night is holding the post for the fourth time.
Solanki’s name was proposed by the outgoing Chief Minister Amarsinh Chaudhary, and seconded by Vijaydas Mahant at a specially convened meeting of the legislature party.
The meeting was presided over by state Congress I committee president, Prabodh Raval and attended by most of the legislatures and central observers M.L Fotedar, S.B. Chavan and Rajesh Pilot.
Solanki called upon the legislatures to sink their differences and work untidily for the victory of the party in the ensuing assembly election.
Earlier Chaudhary submitted his resignation to the governor.
