In soccer, the final which was televised locally was ‘‘very absorbing. The San Jose warriors scored twice in the first half in quick succession and shocked the local hosts Guru Nanak Sports Club, Yuba City. At interval Yuba were two goals down but they came from behind in the second half to score four goals in the half to down the San Jose warriors four goals to two. Amongst these was a beauty of a goal’ scored by Sodhi from a distance. The Warriors goalie played quite well.
