SCHAUMBURG: To project proper image of Sikhs and to familiarize American people about Sikhism, a presentation of slides was arranged at the public Library, Shaumburg, Illinois. The library has a projector in the entrance lobby. Slides were shown at all times the library remained open. Every person entering the library saw slides on Sikh Gurus, Gurdwaras, and Golden Temple etc. The slide projector had about 80 slides which were being projected automatically. A ‘display’ board defining Sikhism and duties of a ‘Sikh’ was placed on the side of projector so that people could see the purpose of slides. Handouts containing the principles of Sikhism were placed on the top of projector for interested persons. Slides were projected for whole month of October.
