NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA: On September 15,1991; after the Path (Sikh Prayer) at Achreja’s house, Hajji Khondker Masudur Rahman shared his views about Sikhism, Rahman an 80-yr-old with a Saintly appearance with long white hair, had really appreciated his 30 years old experience in New Delhi when he, being a Muslim, was welcomed in the Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib.
Rahman said, “It was year 1960 when I used to work in Pakistan Embassy. One day while walking in front of the Gurdwara Sahib, I heard Shabad Kirtan (Sikh Prayer). I was standing near the door and was enjoying the Kirtan. At that time an old saintly looking Sikh came out from Gurdwara Sahib and asked me “Beta (my Son) why are you standing outside? Please come in and enjoy Shabad Kirtan and food inside. Then I asked him that | am a Muslim, so how can I go into the Gurdwara Sahib? Then the Sikh told me that we are all children of the same God. In Gods home everyone is welcome! I had never heard before such words of fatherly affection from an unknown person. I found Sikhs very nice people with a great tolerance for the other religions”.
While saying all this Rahman voice was full of emotions and sentiments. Sikh gave Rahman an elderly and V.I.P. reception in New Orleans. Rahman is a Poet.
