CHANDIGARH: Noted jurist and M.P.Ram Jethmalani on Sept.12, urged the Sikhs to draw lessons from the past and work for unity of the country.
Addressing a congregation at the Sector 19 Gurdwara here, he reminded them of the unhappy end of all those responsible for Operation.
“Bluestar” and the Delhi riots, “No one can suppress on till you follow the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh,” he said.
Regretting that the Sikhs were denied fruits of independence in Spite of contributing in a big way to the freedom struggle, Jethmalani asked the politicians to understand their hurt sentiments. “There should be someone to understand that Sikhs cannot separate from India,” he said.
There was need for men who had the courage to speak the truth even under hostile circumstances, he said, appealing to the people to unite against injustice and corruption, He asked the congregation to pray that letter sense prevailed upon the youth as the future of the country was in their hands. “We should inculcate a feeling of service for the mankind in their hear,” he said.
