BERKELEY, Ca.: Some of the one million viewers regularly watch KQED (channel 9) in the Bay Area may have been surprised recently to see many Sikhs among the dedicated volunteers manning the phones. On Tuesday, March 17, 1987, a group of seven Sikhs participated in the current KQED pledge drive. During their stint at the station, about 1100 new members were signed up, with a total of about $60,000. In pledge money. The Sikhs who took part said that they enjoyed the experience, and would like to do it again. Those participating were Balbir Singh Ragi, Gurnam S. Sidhu, Sulakhan S. Dhillon, Darleen R. Dhillon, Kanwaljit S. Dhillon, Harpreet S. Sandhu and Ajmer Singh.
