HOUSTON, Taxes: Twenty five men and women donated blood at a special blood donation ceremony held here on the occasion of Shaheedi Diwan held to observe the brutal Indian Army attack on the Golden Temple. The mobile unit of the blood bank came to the Sikh Centre for this purpose. A video covering the speeches of the five Congressmen in the House of Representatives was also shown to the members of the congregation.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Hardam Singh Azad, President, Sikh Association of America, emphasised the need to develop proper equation with all the Congressmen and Senators at the local level. “It is only through educating our representatives in the Congress and the Senate that we can hope to project the correct picture of the Sikh predicament”, he said. He expressed his gratitude to all those Sikhs who had worked to mobilize the Congressmen.
