WASHINGTON, D.C.,; The recent attack at an engineering school in Patiala, Punjab, in which at least 19 students were killed was widely condemned by Sikhs in America.

“I condemn this attack on in no cent youngsters in Patiala as nothing less than diabolical, doubly so since it appears this terrorist attack was purely a political tactic, erred to influence the upcoming Indian general elections,” said Aulakh in Washington.

“This would not be the first time Rajiv Gandhi and the Congress (1) Party have played the “terrorist card” to move an election in their favor and to discredit the Sikhs. That was a major motive for the New Delhi massacre in 1984, in which we estimate 20,000 sikns were killed in Delhi alone and another 20,000 throughout the rest of India. That massacre was: followed soon thereafter by general elections. The election slogan at that time was:

“Blood for blood,” meaning mass murder of Sikhs to avenge the assassination of Indira Gandhi.
