NEW DELHI, India: The All India Sikh Student Federation has called on the people to observe “Punjab Bandh” on Dec. 30 in protest against the confirmation of the death sentence by the Delhi High Court awarded to Satwant Singh, Balbir Singh, and Kehar Singh.
The Federation appealed to Sikhs living outside Punjab to close their establishments on that day, the Tribune newspaper reported.
The meeting, the report said, warned the Indian Government that in case these accused were hanged, the Federation would send its representatives to all countries to seek the intervention and help of their Governments for the creation of Vakhra Ghar” (a separate homeland) for the Sikhs in India.
