LOS ANGELESCA: An appeal was made to all the Sikh Gurdwara’s and Social Welfare Organizations to bring food clothes and other items for homeless and riot affected people in Los Angeles with a view to show unity and love in the community.

All the Gurdwara’s came forward with food etc. for the needy people. After performing the Ardas of Bhog in Gurdwara Guru Ram Dass Ashramat 12 noon the sangat along with Shri Harbhajan Singh Yogi proceeded to the langar venue Union Rescue Mission Los Angeles in an organized caravan and served langar to the homeless and riot affected persons first and then the volunteers ate at the same place.

When the caravan reached the langar site M.S.Sidhu Chairman Sarabjit S.Mann President S.S.Sidhu Vice President and Dr.Gumam S.Pannu of Gurdwara Lankershim; Charanjit S.Walia and Paramjit S.Walia Secretary Orange County: Hanwantbir S.Sahni Secretary Alhambra; Sarabjit Singh and Gurmej Singh of Vermont; Barjinder S.Bal of Buena Park; Amarjit S.Dhillonand Pritam S.Sekhon of Anaheim were present. Tej Pratap S.Suri Maninder S.Suri Jagjot S.Gujral H.S.Anand and Tarlok Singh from International Sikh Service Foundation reached there with a hard core of volunteers to serve the meals (langar).

Everything was carried out properly with the efforts of Guru Jodha Singh Attorney Dr.Harbhajan Singh and Kirtan Singh Khalsa Secretary Guru Ram Dass Ashram.

SSS along with all the prominent leaders started serving the langar and over 1000 persons were served.

Dr. Kuldip S.Hanjan of Sikh Welfare foundation of America and Gajinder Shah Singh President Nanak Sadan Reseda also extended their cooperation.

A brief message was given to Sikhs by SSS.

“Let us all pledge to help and stand by each other with mutual love understanding and compassion for each other and our American Brethren”

“Let us commit ourselves for the sake of our prosperity with the fullest participation and mainstreaming of our community in the western world by joining us with the positive forces in America like Service Clubs Volunteer Organizations Social and Political Processes of our chosen home land. Waheguru bless us and God bless America.”

In the end Bahadur Singh Secretary Sikh Dharma Indian Affairs thanked all the participating Gurdwara’s Organizations and volunteers for extending their selfless cooperation.
