NEW YORK, NY: The Sikh Youth of North America, New York Chapter, in a statement, read by Harbhajan Singh, at the Panthic Conference held on January 27 at the Sikh Cultural Society, here decided that all the members of the Organization would not use any last names which were indicative of the caste system.
All hereditary Hierarchical orders are categorically rejected by the Gurus and the Sikh Youth of North America will not let the vestiges of Bhramanical caste system in Sikh society, the statement said.
