LUDHIANA: The Akali unity talks have degenerated into a trap to impose discredited leadership on Sikhs. the Sikh Vichar Manch in a statement here.
SVM President Gurbhajan Singh Gill and General Secretary Balbir Singh Sooch said that Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra’s statement that the seven-member committee has power to modify whatever stands in the way of unity is a pointer to the fact that Akali factions are eager to bury all political communists.
Not long ago these groups had pledged their support to Khalistan but had staged a u-turn 100 soon. Subsequently one group adopted the Amritsar declaration which talked or confederation. This stand was rejected by the Badal group
Jathedar Tohra publicly ethicized Simranjit Singh Mann for the interpretation of the confederation which encouraged the government to arrest Mann on the one hand and appease the Badal group on the other.
As things stand, they said, there appears to be a fresh rapprochement between Badalund Tohru. They seem to have divided offices between themselves to be fool the Panth.
The Sikh Vichar Manch appealed to Akal Takhuathoclar Prof Manjit Singh to disband the seven member committee and take a unilateral decision as ner Akal Takht tents.
