LOS ANGELES: At the last meeting of Board of Directors of Sikh Study Circle, Inc, on May 3rd a decision was made by the Board to send telegrams to the Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, to President Zail Singh, and to Chief Minister Surjit Singh Barnala, The text of the telegram is reproduced below;
WE, THE AMERICAN SIKHS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, CONDEMN THE SECOND ATTACK ON THE GOLDEN TEMPLE AND MASSACRE OF INNOCENT SIKHS IN THE SHRINE BY YOUR GOVERNMENT. INSTEAD OF UTILIZING POLITICAL, LEGAL AND DEMOCRATIC MEANS TO ADDRESS THE SIKHS’ STRUGGLE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS YOU CHOSE BRUTAL FORCE TO SUPPRESS THE ISSUE, THEREFORE, YOUR ACTIONS ARE TATAMOUNT TO A STATE PERPETRATED TERRORISM. BY SUCH ACTIONS YOU ARE PROMOTING THE DIVISION OF THE COUNTRY. IT ONLY CONFIRMS THAT NO MINORITY ISSAFE IN INDIA.
