Sir,
Sat Sri Akal
I appreciate WSN for publishing D.S. Chahals article Sikh & Sikhism Definitions. The writer has made a laudable and timely effort to draw our attention to some incomplete and faulty definitions of Sikh & Sikhism and to suggest a Gurbani-based definition. I think similar effort is urgently needed to define usually misrepresented terms of Sant Seva Pooja etc.
To keep in mind the Why & How oriented mind of the present generation while representing the Sikh philosophy and practices undoubtedly merits serious consideration The origin and the vast expanse of creation (Qudrat) as expressed in Gurbani is an example of the scientific approach of Sikhism.
The relevance of this most modem religion is proved by its treatment of the whole human race as one and the espousal of human rights exemplified by Guru Tegh Bahadurs martyrdom to defend the Brahmins freedom of their faith in which the Sikhs do not believe.
