COOK COUNTY, Illinois: Mrs. Mary MacDonald, a Commissioner of Cook County of Illinois and a longtime friend of the Indian community visited the Sikh Gurdwara at Palatine, Illinois on Oct. 26.

She addressed the full house congregation, took relished “langar” si floor in line with the other members of the “Sangat”.

Mrs. McDonald, a Republican who was reelected to her seat on Nov. 4 with a record vote. In Nov. 1984, she had accompanied George Schultz, the Secretary of State, representing United States at the funeral ceremony of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, at New Delhi, India.

She advised the Sikhs to keep in touch with their Senators and Congressman, if they want to have their voice heard.
