NEW YORK: Balwant Singh of Jackson Heights has qualified as a member of the 1991 Executive Council of New York Life Insurance Company, according to Vasil T.lvanov, general manager of the company’s Nassau general office in Syosset.
Council membership is based on 1990/91 sales performance. As an Executive Council member, Singh attended a three-day educational conference in Disney World, Florida.
NEW DELHI: The election ‘commission Friday imposed a ban on transfer of officials connected with elections and on payments ‘out of the discretionary funds under the model code of conduct in the states where parliamentary and assembly bye elections are due on Nov.16.
An official press note said this, was done to ensure free and fair elections in the 16 Lok Sabha lower house of Parliament) and subassembly constituencies where by-elections would be held next month.
The note said the ban of officials’ transfer and payments out of discretionary funds would apply to constituencies in particular and the states and Delhi where such action would prejudice conduct of fair and free poll.
These orders shall remain in force ‘until the completion of these elections.
