CHICAGO; IL: The first Sikh Heritage Award will be conferred on Congressman Dan Burton at a special dinner in his honour at the Hyatt Regency, Oak Brook, Illinois on Saturday September 3, 1988. The dinner is being hosted on behalf of the Sikh community of the Mid West and is being organised by the Association of ‘Sikh Professionals.
Hon. Dan Burton, it may be recalled recently introduced a bill in the House of Representatives calling upon the Indian government to stop violating the human rights of the Sikhs. He has been consistently advocating for a peaceful solution to the Punjab problem.
More than 300 Sikhs are expected to join the dinner according to the information released to World Sikh News by S. Amarjit Singh who is working along with Dr. Jagmeet Singh Soin, Baljeet Singh and Rani Pavittar Singh to make dinner a great success.
