LANSING, Mi.: The annual function of the Sikh Gurdwara of Michigan Inc, was held here, On this occasion Dr. Varinder Singh Grewal performed the Bhog of the Sahaj Path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Sardar Amarjit Singh Buttar confided with the Sikh Sangat about the plight of the Sikh ‘community in Punjab, The Sangat ‘expressed grief over the sad demise of Bhai Sahib Sardar Kapur Singh, LCS. (retired) ex M.P. and enlogised his services to the Sikh Panth .
Dr. Varinder Singh Grewal appealed to the Sikh community to contribute generally towards the Endowment Fund being collected you establish the Sikh Studies Program at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbour, Underlining the importance of Sikh Studies at the University, Dr. Grewal of the need to preserve Sikh identity and to educate our progeny of the rich heritage of the Sikhs.
‘A community kitchen was organized in which the Sangat from as far as New York also participated.
