(W.S.N. Fresno Bureau) MADERA, CA: Sikh Council of Central California, (S.C.C.C.) held its monthly meeting in Madera. Comprised of representatives from six central California gurdwaras, SCCC aims to unify and coordinate efforts by various Sikh institutions, in this area.

According to Dr. Rajpal, its secretary, SCCC will provide innovative ways all means of education. SCCC will attempt to create awareness among our younger generation with regards (0 our religious, culture and history.

It will prompt harmony, understanding and cohesion among various Sikh institutions to attain its objectives. Also, it will promote appropriate environment for functioning of Sikh gurdwaras.

‘This newly constituted organization will also coordinate efforts with other national Sikh organization. It will seek redirections from Akal Takhat, Sikhdom’s highest seat of power for classification of issues which SCCC thought were misrepresented on controversial.

Sardar Charanjit Singh Batth a noted farmer from Caruthers, Dr, Paramjit Singh Fagoora and Dr, Poonia from Fresno along with others participated in the meeting.

Dr. Rajpal disagreed with people’s skepticism regarding the achievement ‘of SCCC goals, as similar organization, have failed in the past. “Past failure, don’t necessarily mean that we should quit trying,” said Dr, Rajpal, “it could be new beginning, who knows.”
