On November 27, 1990 JCC SIFE members their Faculty Advisor and SIFE Fellow Pritpal Singh Chatha’s hard work and effort made the SIFE Convocation successful one.
SIFE Students in Free Enterprise members decorated the Meyer Auditorium with SIFE Posters “Free Enterprise Month”, “The Key To Success, Free Enterprise”, “Halt The Deficit”, “Success
2000”, “Please Say No To Drugs”, “Free Enterprise Works”, and so on. The Film Introduction to Sife was shown to the audience and was commended by the participants,
The Hon. W.C. Maynard, Mayor, City of Hawkins read the proclamation which declared November 130, 1990 Free Enterprise Month for the city of Hawkins and Jarvis Christian College.
Ms. Rhonda Gipson read greetings letter from the Hon. William P. Clements Jr. Governor, State of Texas and Mrs, Clements to SIFE members, their Sponsor Pritpal Singh Chatha, Division of Business Administration, and Jarvis Christian College.
Ms. Marla Ragsdadale, Guest Speaker and Regional Personnel Manager for region9, “covering states of NorthEast Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas”, Mr. Stern Ellis, District Manager, Tvler. WalMart Stores, Inc. presented the success story of the Free Enterprise System through the story of Walmart Stores Inc. Mr. Sam Walton started the store 28 years ago at the same time KMart started serving the market. At present, Fiscal year ending January 31, 1990, Net sales are $25, 810.6 million, Net income $1,075.9 million, number of stores 1600 and number of Associates 277,955 in 40 states in the United States.
Mr. Autrey Accrey, Assistant V. President, Academic Affairs commended JCC SIFE members and their sponsor for their unique effort in educating and promoting Free Enterprise System. He also wished success for Wal Mart stores and their employees in serving the customers. SIFE, Faculty Advisor Pritpal Singh Chatha appreciates the hard work and effort of Ms. Tara Vaughn, Kenneth Govan, Rhonda Stewart, Phillip Adams, Fontella Tytt, Tony Gayle’s, Tiffany Durren and all other students to make the program successful.
