ASHINGTON: A long. Delayed meeting between Secretary of State George Shultz and Soviet Foreign Minister Eduard Shevardnadze to prepare for a summit of the country’s leaders will take place in Washington on September 19-20, the State department announced today. Department spokesman Charles Redman told reporters the two men would discuss what additional preparations may be needed for a summit to take place later this year. He gave no details. Redman said there had not been any meeting between President Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail
Gorbachev in Geneva last November.
