NEW DELHI: Chandra Shekhar said the government is taking all necessary steps to provide security to media personnel in Punjab Kashmir and Assam and will not be cowed down by threats.
Addressing the parliamentary consultative committee of the ministry of information and broadcasting here he said the Prasar Bharati act would be implemented keeping in mind the government’s commitment to an autonomous media which functioned with a sense of accountability and responsibility.
